Imran, Goity, Chechnya, 2011.

Imran Dzhambekov was dragged from his home by masked men in government vehicles. The license plate numbers were written down and the vehicles were traced, but Imran was never heard from again. He joins the growing army of missing people in the North Caucasus. Imran’s parents moved heaven and earth to find their son. His mother, Zainap, voiced a fiery protest that landed her in jail: “I’m too old to be scared of this government.”
